Grassroots Environmental Education is our primary non-profit organization for work on environmental health issues. We helped write and pass the first state-wide legislation prohibiting the use of pesticides on all school grounds in New York State, and recently helped pass similar legislation banning pesticides in all NYC parks. We were deeply involved in winning the fight to prohibit fracking in New York. Right now we're working on plastic pollution, extended producer responsibility and PFAS contamination of water.  We're also planting trees wherever we can with our Canopy Project.

Green Street News is our syndicated radio show and podcast where Patti and I cover a wide range of issues from plastic pollution to PFAS to food safety to radio frequency radiation and other emerging environmental health issues. Our guests include some of the top thought leaders in their fields, including scientists, authors, medical professionals and other experts. The 30-minute weekly show is available wherever you get your podcasts!

The rapid proliferation of wireless technology in virtually every phase of our lives has brought increased concern among public health experts about the potential biological impacts of almost-constant exposure.  Americans for Responsible Technology, or "ART" is a national coalition of more than 150 grassroots organizations, and provides materials to municipalities across the country regarding their local codes. Check out the Tool Kit and all the advocacy materials we have developed.

Every Saturday morning in Port Washington, New York, Patti and I run the farmers' market on the Town Dock. It's a mostly organic market with local farmers and people who sell fish, bread, honey, cheese, apples, pasta, Mediterranean dishes and all kinds of other good things to eat. It's a beautiful location with plenty of parking. If you're in the area on any Saturday from June to October, please stop by and say hello!

These are just a few of the issues we work on. For more information about our many projects and programs, please visit our Grassroots website. Thanks for your interest!
